YNEF Grant Fuels Olympic
Aspirations for Waltz and Griggs

Two local sailors are on a mission to sail in the 2028 Olympics in a 49er Sailboat, pictured. Liam Walz grew up in Grosse Pointe and sailed at Crescent Sail Club. His partner is Abbie Griggs. They are now campaigning and training at national and international regattas with hopes of making the US training team. One of the major obstacles with an Olympic run is the raise funds while training. YNEF provided a grant and a funding mechanism to permit them to rais funds through YNEF to fund their campaign.
